MetricPin

Privacy Policy

MetricPin tracks only the webpage values you choose. This policy explains what the extension handles, where that information is stored, and when an AI provider may receive it.

Effective date: September 16, 2026

Overview

MetricPin is a browser extension that lets you select a number on a webpage, save it as a metric, periodically read that selected value, and display its history, trends, goals, and alerts.

Information MetricPin handles

When you use MetricPin, the extension may handle:

MetricPin reads the selected element during ordinary tracking. It does not build a general browsing-history database, record keystrokes, collect passwords, read forms, or monitor pages merely because you visit them.

Because you can choose a metric from any website, a selected value or screenshot could contain information that is sensitive in context. Do not select information you do not want stored locally or provided to an AI website when using an AI-powered feature.

How information is used

MetricPin uses this information only to provide its metric-tracking features:

MetricPin stores saved metric data in browser extension storage on your device. The developer does not operate a cloud database for MetricPin data.

AI-powered features

MetricPin can work with a supported AI website selected in the extension settings, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Google AI Studio. When an AI-powered feature is used, MetricPin communicates with that website through a browser tab and may provide:

The AI website processes this information through your account with that provider. It is not sent to MetricPin's developer. The AI provider's own privacy policy, data retention practices, and terms apply.

Sharing and sale

MetricPin does not sell user data. MetricPin does not transfer user data for advertising, profiling unrelated to its features, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.

Information is transferred to a supported AI website only when necessary to provide an AI-powered feature through that website. MetricPin does not send analytics or telemetry to the developer.

Retention and deletion

Saved metrics, preferences, alert history, and value history remain in browser extension storage until you delete them in MetricPin, clear the extension's data, or uninstall MetricPin. Session diagnostics are temporary and are removed by the browser when the extension session ends or when you clear them in the extension.

Information submitted to an AI provider is retained according to that provider's settings and privacy policy.

Security

MetricPin packages its executable code with the extension and does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. Website content is handled only for the tracking and AI-powered features described in this policy.

Background request rules are temporary and narrowly scoped to pages being read by MetricPin. They are removed when the related synchronization work is complete.
